Two Opera Talks remain this calendar year, but both have reached capacity, according to officials at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI).
After Opera Talks – Opera Wilmington’s partnership with OLLI – proved very popular during the Metropolitan Opera’s 2024-25 Live in HD season, we launched a new series this fall, all headlined by UNCW opera historian Dr. Helena Kopchick Spencer. OLLI members and others were offered “season tickets” for the three talks, which consist of La Sonnambula (Bellini), Arabella (R. Strauss) and Andréa Chenier (Giordano).
There will be more Opera Talks in the winter and spring months of 2026, so don’t worry! We’ll let you know when tickets are available. Each talk provides plot information and context for a Met Live in HD screening a few days later.
