We’re excited to announce that this year’s Caterina Jarboro Memorial Concert, scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14, spotlights baritone-on-the-rise Thandolwethu Mamba. Mamba should be familiar to our La Traviata audiences: he sang the role of Baron Douphol, who famously doesn’t get the girl despite his efforts and his well-stocked wallet.
Since that 2023 engagement, Mamba has been very busy with a variety of operatic and concert performances, and we are very lucky indeed that he found time for us in his schedule. A native of Eswatini and a proud Duke University grad, Mamba is delightful on stage and off. You won’t want to miss this Valentine’s Day treat!
